This microscope is clean, complete and in extremely good condition. Although it is a few years old, and has some normal wear-and-tear (as could be expected from an older microscope) this microscope produces excellent image quality. Two heads: There is both a trinocular head to which you can connect a camera, using the correct connector (not included) and a binocular head with this microscope (see pictures for number scratched into paint of binocular head).
Two sets of Zeiss eyepieces: 12.5x and 8x in a 4 position turret. A Zeiss phase telescope (special eyepiece used to view phase ring and phase shifter alignment).
Three Zeiss objectives: 10x Ph1, 40x Plan 0.65 and a 100x immersion 1.3. Mechanical stage for precision X and Y movement of slide. Intermediate tube (just below the head) with 5 turret positions: 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.6x, 2.0x and PH There is also a''flip-in-and-out' neutral density filter mounted. This filter is "buckled" (for the lack of a better term) although it can still be used.Sub-stage condenser with 6 position turret positions: 1=aperture diaphragm, 2,3,4 = three different Phase Contrast rings, 5 and 6 are open. Condenser is fully adjustable and has a flip in/out front lens. Course and fine focus adjustment. Daylight blue filter on top of field diaphragm housing.
Variable lamp intensity; controlled by a 6-position Zeiss transformer. Overall this microscope is in excellent condition. Optics is clean and clear, with no delamination. One of the phase rings in the turret looks like it has delamination - remember that this is simply an opaque stop and not a lens - it is to illuminate your sample with a hollow cone of light, so delamination is a non-issue in a phase ring. Modern phase rings are solid black plastic. Focus, mechanical stage, condenser focus, diopter setting, interpupillary distance setting all move smoothly. There is a scratch on the flip in/out lens of the condenser. Although this is noticeable when looking at the condenser lens, it does not affect image quality. Body/paint is in good condition with a few minor chips/scratches consistent with normal use for age. Zeiss microscopes are known for their top-notch quality. This model is no exception; it shows German engineering at its best. This microscope is ready to be used; it was recently professionally cleaned, lubed and inspected.
