The condenser has three Wollaston prisms in the condenser; #1 for 16X, #2 for 40X, and #3 for 100X. As to which objectives will work with these prisms, the general consensus is plan achromats and the neofluars. However, the plan achromats must have the following serial numbers as follows: Plan 16X before 4562320, Plan 40X before 4781911, andPlan 100X from 4407651 onwards. I tested this unit on my Zeiss Photomicroscope II with my Plan 16X sn 4464882, and my Plan 100X sn 5096867 with iris, and the images were very even across the field in regards to field eveness. The Neofluars have no specific serial number requirements that is known, but I would suspect they would work from a similar age of the plan achromats.
A big surprise and probably unknown to most people is the 40X multi immersion Plan Neofluar objective seems to work amazingly well with this DICunit, and also with the III attachment for the Standard, GFL, and the WL. The images with this objective are very impressive as you can imagine. Also I tested the Plan Neofluar 16X MI objective; it's close, but not exactly even enough for critical photomicrography. All in all, this is a very desirable set in good condition that is getting hard to find in a matched, useable set. Get images that make Supersized seem small.
