This is an Estate Fresh old box of Orthopedic Fracture equipment from the 50's to the 60s I believe. This set comes in an original box that is marked with what I believe is the US Army Enlisted Medical Corp Insignia on the lid. The box has an old Leather Handle on the top which also supports the age I believe it to be.
The box contains a Hand Crank Bone Drill which works, with the name Siebrandt on the side, part of the. Equipment Inc Co of Kansas City MO. The drill set is complete with 3 size drills and 2 Allen Wrenches a Chuck and a large selection of long pins in the designed compartments in the bottom of the box.
This box also contains 3 different size Bone Clamps for the use in Fracture repair. Siebrandt actually has several Patents on Bone Fracture Clamps and these could be the cutting edge clamps they were patenting.
2 of these clamps are also stamped Siebrandt. The 2 smaller clamps pictured, the largest 12.5 long clamp is so firmly ensconced in the box, I cannot get it out and I do not want to scratch it up trying. Its in like new pristine condition and I want to keep it that way. It is identical to the 10.75 clamp save its size.
Its a really interesting set and I believe it to be fairly rare. Maybe a prototype set for the military as it is so portable and one sees little to no Siebrandt product on the internet which has some implication of its own. This is a super high quality set all stainless and heavy gauge. Just a really interesting group. The box actually has a latch on it with a lock and the key is with the set. It was well care for.
