Antique Dental Medicament Stand - Complete & Authentic w/ Provenance. Offered is an exceptional and complete antique dental medicament stand, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1920s-1940s), used in a working dental practice. This is not a pieced-together set- all components were acquired together from a known dental office, where the practice had been passed down from an earlier dentist.
This adds a genuine layer of provenance and authenticity rarely found with these pieces. These stands were central to early dental procedures, allowing the dentist to.Dispense antiseptics and medicaments from glass bottles. Prepare solutions in dappen dishes. Access cotton rolls quickly via the integrated dispenser. A true example of early organized dental workflow before modern disposable systems. Three original amber glass bottles with glass dispensing stoppers.
Three glass dappen dishes (one with period staining from use). Integrated cotton roll dispenser with working roller mechanism. Chrome/steel frame with wire holders for instruments or cotton.
Bottle bases are marked "TK", consistent with early dental/laboratory glassware of the period. This unit came directly from a dental office where I worked, after the practice was acquired from a previous dentist. Its history is known and continuous- not an estate find or loose antique -which supports its authenticity as a working piece of dental equipment. Overall very good antique condition. Glass components intact with no cracks observed.
Light oxidation/patina on metal consistent with age. One wire holder shows heavier oxidation (see photos). One dappen dish shows staining from historical use (adds character and authenticity). Unrestored and left in original condition to preserve historical integrity.
This piece is ideal for. Dental / medical antique collectors. Curiosity cabinets or conversation pieces. Complete examples like this-especially with bottles, dishes, and dispenser intact-are becoming increasingly difficult to find.Displays exceptionally well and presents as a museum-quality example of early dental equipment.
